PGA golf scoreboard- In case you hit your tee shot out of bounds and feel that it cannot be found, you have the option to take the tee shot a second time. Such shot is known as the provisional ball and it is considered to be the new ball in play. This rule is applicable to shots taken from the fairways as well.

- You must always play the ball as it is. It is strictly prohibited to touch the ball while its in play, unless it is marked on the putting green or it is has been removed from an unplayable lie and you are hitting the penalty stroke.

- In case the golf ball is lost, one must not get late than five minutes trying to locate it. If you are found guilty of holding up the play for a period exceeding five minutes, you stand a chance of getting penalized heavily. You must feel free to opt for the provisional ball in such a scenario.

- One is only allowed to do away with loose impediments or soil from the golf ball on the putting green. Normally, in all situations, one must play the golf ball as it is.

- In case your golf ball is resting against a natural object and removing such object can put the ball in motion, you must resort to playing the ball as it is. If you feel that the ball is unplayable, you have the option to pick and drop the ball into play at a minimum of two club length away from the original position.

- In the event that your golf ball is resting against a man made object in sand bunker, for example, some piece of garbage, you are allowed to remove the object even though it may lead to the movement of golf ball.
